Border Collie Classics

Radovan Liska and Rody win the 2022 Border Collie Classics

In a thrilling final, where places 1 to 9 are all within one second, Radovan Liska from the Czech Republic prevails with Rody. He wins the tournament in Belgium ahead of Zeljko Gora with Hash and Jouni Orenius with Amidala. Due to the favorable date and location one week after the European Open at the same place, the Border Collie Classics were once again top-class this year. The final proved this more than impressively. Radovan Liska secures a singles title for the Czech Republic for the third time in a row. In previous years, Tereza Kralova and Say won both tournaments in a row.

Radovan Liska completed Jeremy Manno’s course in a time of 40.26 (5.46 m/s). Even Cédric Bargoin with Oz in 9th place is still within reach of a podium with a time of 41.19. In many other tournaments that would probably have been enough. Zeljko Gora and Hash missed first place by a measly 0.11 seconds. And another 0.11 seconds behind is the Swede Jouni Orenius. Behind him in places 4 to 7 comes the concentrated load from Germany with Ramona Schürken, Max Sprinz and Miriam Schopen. Not quite German, but at least German-speaking, Martin Brunner is in 8th place with Fiona.

Zeljko Gora had another reason to celebrate. In the team classification, he was able to secure the title together with his teammates Nina Gregl (Simba and Knick) and Anna Dyksa (Apple) from the Ukraine. Despite one mistake, the team managed to get first place. For the latter, it should be all the more gratifying given the current situation. The team from Switzerland with Alice Laforge (Tesla), Simon Tabourat (Xena), Yannick Boutellier (Taff) and Ashleigh Serrem (Ziva) is in second place, also with one fault. Already with two faults including a discarded result, third place goes to the team from France around Thomas Soccodato (Appy), Elodie Bertholier (Snow), Michel Antoni (Zlatan) and Davina Fantini (Eily).
