Tobias Wüst with a brilliant start into the German AWC/EO qualifications

This weekend took the first two qualifiers for the German national team place in the DTC Agility Park. The Small and Medium National Team is searching the teams for the World Championship in Turku, Finland, in September and the European Open in July in the Netherlands. The start into the qualifiers could have been not better for Tobias Wüst and Dörte. The duo wins thus superior every single run and is now on the first intermediate place after four heats. There are also extra points for them from the combined ranking. Not quite to the maximum score of 150 points comes Daniel Schröder with cashew in the medium ranking. Nevertheless, he is also with quite a big margin currently in first place with 139 points.

Lizandra Ströhle and Sheltie Lou are currently in second place, but already 46 points behind Tobias Wüst and Dörte. About a month ago, the two reached the third place at the Hungarian Open. Third with 97 points, Bozena Schröder is also on course to qualify for the big final in Dortmund. The first 17 will get a starting permission for the final round in Dortmund, where everything starts from the beginning again. The places 1-8 after the fourth qualification can already sure to be a member of the European Open National Team. Tobias Wüst aptly described the first weekend as follows: «Dörte ran and won and ran and won and so on».  At the same time he also complained about his own condition and that he must increase it in the next weeks and months. But the fast courses this weekend were no surprise, especially the courses of the Norwegian guest judge Jan Egil Eide. He is famous for long, fast and smooth courses. Oliver Gustke was the second judge during the two days. The currently second-placed and faultless Lizandra Ströhle started according to their own statements with mixed feelings in the World Championship tryouts 2019. The memories of the failed qualifying last year are still present in her head.

Current overall ranking Small (2/4)

Also unsurprisingly, Daniel Schröder and Cashew leads the medium classification unchallenged. 139 points includes the account of the two. They only gave this Sunday some few points away with a fourth place in the A-run. However, this should be more than acceptable in the actual situation. Behind him in second place is Karin Hellriegel with Mudi Gimmick. The gap has been already 42 points between them. But she already can look forward to a very good starting position for the last four runs of the qualification. She won the A-run on Sunday. She might be not in the first positions in all other races, but always consistent in the top ten. Third is currently Maurice Münch with Sheltie Twix. Not at all desired was the first two days so far for Silas Boogk and Beam. The two favorites are currently in 17th place with only a single second place. They would actually with this 17th place also be in Dortmund, but not at the European Open. At position 19 and thus currently neither at the European Open nor at the final round in Dortmund is Bozena Schröder with Puck. However, all teams have the opportunity to earn 150 points in three weeks. Settled is known at the end. But it is certain that Tobias Wüst and Daniel Schröder can start calmly into the second half of the tryouts in their own hall.

Current overall ranking Medium (2/4)
